Baby and children hammocks

Did you know that a baby can use a hammock straight from birth and that the baby hammock can be suspended in the play pen? Baby hammocks are suitable to be used by babies of up to 6 months and have proven to stimulate overall balance and motoric development of the child. The light rocking motion of the hammock which is caused by the breading of the baby has a positive effect on the equilibrium. Research has shown that a rocking motion has a positive effect on many aspect of development not only for babies but also adults. Many South American hospitals use baby hammocks for premature babies as it stimulates the babies growth. Always make sure that the baby is nice and warm. Hammocks are nice and cool in the summer but can be cold in the winter as they do not hold much body heat. A baby hammock can be used until the baby starts crawling and when they start walking a childrens hammock is ideal.

All baby hammocks by ‘Marañon’ are of a very high quality and can be washed at high temperatures inside the washing machine. We can’t make them any better. In 1992 we started the production of our baby hammocks in Brazil and Colombia. These are the two countries where most hammocks come from. Our baby hammocks have a total length of 150cm and come with matching ropes to use for suspension in a play pen. Baby hammocks longer then 150 cm can be to big to fit in a play pen. The lying surface of the hammocks are 100cm x 100cm this makes it possible for the baby to lay crosswise in the hammock (the optimal position to lay in a hammock). Our children hammocks and hanging chairs can be used from an age of about 2 years old. They can start using the hammock and hanging chairs from when they start to walk. They will then realize it is possible to fall out and will use the hammocks to relax and play in.
